After you enable a chat widget for an inbox, Clearline generates an embed snippet. Add this snippet to your website so visitors can start conversations.

Get the snippet

  1. Go to Settings → Inboxes.
  2. Open the inbox.
  3. Go to Channels.
  4. Turn on Chat widget.
  5. Copy the embed snippet.
The snippet loads the Clearline widget loader and passes the widget client ID.

Install the snippet

Paste the snippet before the closing </body> tag or in your tag manager. Install it on every page where visitors should be able to start a chat.

Verify installation

  1. Open your website in a private browser window.
  2. Confirm the launcher appears in the configured position.
  3. Send a test message.
  4. Confirm the conversation appears in the connected inbox.
If website restrictions are enabled, the widget loads only on allowed domains. Add your testing domain before validating.
