# Customize web chat

> Configure brand color, theme, launcher position, greeting messages, and pop-up prompts.

Use the widget **Look and feel** settings to match your website and choose how visitors are greeted.

## Appearance

| Setting             | What it controls                                    |
| ------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Brand color** | Chat button and visitor message color. |
| **Theme** | Match visitor device, always light, or always dark. |
| **Button position** | Where the launcher appears on the page. |
| **Tagline** | Small line under the header. Leave blank to hide. |

## Greeting messages

Greeting messages are shown when visitors first open the chat. Add one or more short messages that set expectations.

Examples:

* `Welcome! How can we help?`
* `Have a question about service or sales? Send us a message.`
* `We usually reply in a few minutes.`

## Pop-up messages

Pop-up messages invite visitors to start a chat. Each rule can include:

* Message text
* Page path or blank for all pages
* Delay in seconds

Use pop-ups sparingly. A page-specific message usually performs better than one generic message across the whole site.

## Preview before publishing
