# Email domains

> Add and verify domains for shared inboxes, outbound sending, and appointment notifications.

Email domains let Clearline send and receive email from addresses on your domain or subdomain.

## Add a domain

1. Go to **Settings → Channels**.
2. Click **Add custom domain**.
3. Enter the domain.
4. Save the domain.
5. Add the DNS records shown in Clearline.
6. Wait for the domain status to become **Verified**.

## Use a verified domain

Verified domains can be used for:

* Shared inbox email addresses.
* Outbound campaign email senders.
* Appointment notification email.

## Domain statuses

| Status       | Meaning                               |
| ------------ | ------------------------------------- |
| **Pending**  | DNS records are not verified yet.     |
| **Partial**  | Some DNS records passed verification. |
| **Verified** | The domain is ready to use.           |
| **Failed**   | DNS verification failed.              |
