# Appointment notifications

> Configure confirmation, cancellation, reminders, and confirmation calls.

Appointment notifications are configured per appointment type from the **Notifications** tab.

## Notification channels

Choose the phone number and email address used for notifications.

| Channel      | Requirement                                         |
| ------------ | --------------------------------------------------- |
| Phone number | Must be reserved for appointment reminders.         |
| Email domain | Must be verified.                                   |
| From address | Required before email notifications can be enabled. |

## Notification types

| Notification             | Purpose                                                      |
| ------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Booking confirmation** | Sent when a booking is confirmed.                            |
| **Cancellation**         | Sent when an appointment is cancelled.                       |
| **Reminders**            | Sent before the appointment at configured reminder times.    |
| **Confirmation call**    | Calls contacts before the appointment to confirm attendance. |

Email notification toggles are disabled until you select an email domain and set a from address.

## Configure appointment notification email

1. Open the appointment type.
2. Go to **Notifications**.
3. Select a verified email domain.
4. Enter a from address, such as `notifications`.
5. Enable the notification emails you want to send.

## Configure calls and SMS

1. Select a phone number reserved for appointment reminders.
2. Enable the SMS or call notification types you want.
3. Configure reminder timing and confirmation call behavior.
